COURSE INFO

Course Summary
The Tonto Mountain Rides course combines the best of Usery Mountain Regional Park and the Hawes Trail System. For those in the 50 & 30 mile rides, although most of your rides is on rolling trail, please be prepared for some tough technical sections in the Hawes Trail System. We recommend those distances only for intermediate & advanced riders.

All riders will start/finish at the Trailhead Staging Area within Usery Mountain Regional Park. The distance you choose to tackle will determine just how far you wander outside of the park and into the rugged arms of the Tonto National Forest.

The 10 mile, 20 mile, 100 mile relay will stay entirely within Usery Mountain Regional Park and are perfect for fast racing or those just getting started in mountain biking.

You will encounter a mix of wider rolling desert terrain, sandy wash sections, as well as rugged and rocky single track.

Come take on this new adventure with us!

50 and 30 Mile Course Map
The 50 Mile loop starts in Usery and then shows you the best climbing, descent and fast, flowy singletrack Hawes has to offer.
The 30 mile loop also starts in Usery and after a climb past Pass Mtn brings you more fast, flowy Hawes fun before returning you to the park to finish.

Mountain Biking and Trash
Please respect the trails and the beauty of the desert by disposing of any trash at one of our aid stations. We do recycle and participate in the Terracycle program where we recycle used nutrition packets and gel wrappers. Please deposit them in the specified container at the feed station.

Trail Etiquette
Remember to always remain on designed trails, no short cutting.
If you decide to use headphones, please be respectful of riders behind you attempting to pass.

This course includes some legit single track. If you are fast and attempting to pass, please alert the rider in front of you before flying past them. Likewise, if you hear a rider approaching you from behind, attempt to find a spot to allow the pass.

As a general rule, when passing a rider, announce, “on your left.” Remain in control and respect the other participants.
Everyone is after the same goal here so let’s be respectful of each other’s races and have fun.

Pets
For the safety of all riders, no pets are allowed on-course at the race. Any pets at the race must be on a leash at all times, respect park rules, and be supervised.

Volunteers
If you would like to join our volunteer team, we are looking for help with event setup, aid station, and event breakdown. Volunteer perks include a piece of Aravaipa merchandise or race goody and Aravaipa Race Credits. Sign up here!
